You can use Preview to manually change the way UseBestMail treats mail. The Preview shows you messages that are still on the server and not yet downloaded and indicates their status. The status conditions are:

• Good Mail - This is stamped mail.
• Bad Mail - Mail not stamped or on whitelist and not yet challenged or recruited.
• Commercial - Mail with paid stamp.
• Whitelist - To be delivered by virtue of being on the whitelist
• Questionable - Has stamp but stamp could not be validated due to UseBestMail server unavailable.
• Pending - Has been challenged or recruited and is waiting on server for expiration or response.
• Information - Mechanically generated messages, usually Non-Delivery notices.
• Used - An information message that has been used to delete a Pending message.
• Response - Response to a Challenge which will allow challenged message to be received.
• new Challenge - About to be challenged. You can override this to prevent the challenge.
• new Recruit - About to be recruited. You can override this to prevent sending recruiting message.
• Force Download - Force the message to be downloaded.
• Unknown - This is an error condition which should not occur.

The status -DELETE appended to any of these indicates it will be deleted from the server and not downloaded.

As you scroll through the listing you are provided with one or more actions you can take to change the status of the mail. For example, you can force download of a message, add it to the whitelist or prevent it from being challenged or recruited. You can also delete it from the server without downloading it.

Note that the actions requiring something to happen on the server will actually take place when you do a non-preview type download. These actions include deletion from the server, force download, and download as a result of adding to the whitelist. The challenge and recruiting actions occur immediately as you exit from the Preview screen.

The UseBestMail icon changes to indicate various states. U indicates that UseBestMail is running and gives you a place to click. G indicates that good mail is waiting for download. P indicates that clicking your email program's Check Mail or Download Mail button will display the UseBestMail Preview instead of doing the download.
